Wawa officially opens its first shop in Ohio: ‘Satisfied with Welcome Warm’

The first location of the chain of popular convenience shops in Buckeye state kept its large opening Wednesday morning at Liberty Township, not far from Cincinnati.

The magnificent opening event, which took place on the 61st anniversary of Wawa, includes grant announcements of “local” community partners, a “Hoagies for Heroes Hoagie-Building Contest” and a strip cut, according to Wawa.

The New Liberty Township store paves the way for the Wawa entrance to Midwest and adds another state to the company trail.

The first of the nine Wawa stores predicted to open in Ohio by the end of the year, “Wawa said.

“We are excited to fly to Ohio and bring our unique combination of fresh food and drinks, convenience and service to new friends and neighbors in Buckeye state,” said Wawa Brian Schaller.

“This historic milestone begins the next chapter of our Midwest growth, and we are happy with the warm welcome we continue to receive from so many communities, we are now proud to count as part of the Wawa flock.”

Wawa estimated that about 2,000 new long -term jobs will arise from its planned general expansion in Buckeye state.

The convenience store is seeking to open 45 to 55 stores in Ohio within the decade, with a pace of openings in four to 10 new stores each year, said Wawa.

Each of the stores will require an investment of over $ 7.5 million by Wawa, the company said.

Wawa, which has been expanding rapidly in recent years, currently operates over 1,100 countries across Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, Florida, North Carolina, Georgia, Washington, DC – and, from Wednesday, Ohio, its 10th state.
