Fluoride exposure associated with “detrimental effects” on the health of pregnant women, infants: Study

Fluorine has long been used as a dental health tool as a means of preventing cavities and fighting tooth decay-but now a new meta-analysis suggests that there may be “harmful effects” on the health of women and infants pregnant.

Researchers analyzed various studies, concluding that exposure to fluoride “offers little benefit to the fetus and the young baby.”

Systemic fluorine exposure can have a detrimental impact on bone strength, thyroid function and cognitive development, according to the findings, which were published in the annual public health review.

“Administration throughout the systemic fluorine community can present an unfavorable benefit ratio for pregnant woman, fetus and baby,” Meta-analysis reads.

Philippe Grandjean, a study researcher and professor of environmental medicine at the University of South Denmark, told Fox News Digital that “fluorine is toxic to early brain development”.

“It does not depend on the source of the fluorine,” Grandjean. “In addition to fluoridated drinking water, we should limit the swallow of fluoridated toothpaste, which in itself is great for dental health but does not swallow it.”

It recommended avoiding consumption of some types of black tea-“especially those that have grown in fluoride-rich soils (eg East Africa and certain parts of China and India)”.

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) are said to have strengthens teeth and reduces cavities by replacing lost minerals during normal consumption and tears.

The review noted that with increasing access to fluoride over the years, the beneficial effect of fluoride is largely current, mentioning that there is no need for widespread community fluoride.

During an appearance last week at The Story with Martha MacCallum. HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said that “exposure to fluorine is related to dose”.

“In other words, the more fluoride gets, the lower your IQ will be – the benefits of fluoride are current,” Kennedy added.

“Initially it was thought that when we put it in the water again in the 1940s that they were systemic,” he continued. “In other words, if you drink it, it would do something to your body to prevent cavity growth. But that’s not how it works.”

The HHS secretary added that the fluorine is associated with “extreme loss in bone density”.

More than 200 million Americans, or about 75% of the population, currently drink fluoridated water.

“All its benefit comes from current application … There is no reason to have it in the waters in this era where we have toothpaste and mouth washing,” Kennedy concluded.

Kennedy said he plans to show the CDC to stop the recommendation of adding fluoride to drinking water, the Associated Press reported.

Utah recently became the first state to pass the legislation that prohibits fluorine in public drinking water.

Governor Spencer Cox signed the draft law last month, an action that was applauded by those who support the movement “Make America healthy again”.

Lawmakers in other countries, including Ohio, South Carolina and Florida, have also submitted proposals to limit local governments or water system operators from adding fluoride to water.
