My life left after a chiropractor broke my neck

After a devastating injury, a man from Nashville is praying with others to leave the chiropractor.

Last year, Tyler Stanton endured “the worst pain I had ever experienced in my life”, a hospital stay and the beginning of a constant battle that left him incapable of working.

And he says it all started immediately after a chiropractor hit his neck – and something appeared.

On the eve of his 33rd birthday last June, Stanton said he visited one of the national chains of Chiropractic, 950 common countries.

After adjusting the stanton backpack, the chiropractor moved to the neck.

“This was not hit for the first time,” he said in a January video with 3.6 million views. “In the second when he tried to break my neck, he put a lot of strength after it, and I heard a large and painful pop. I immediately knew something was wrong.”

Stanton recalled that when he tried to sit down, the room began to rotate. “My balance was simply completely f – ked. I was right away, experienced sweating.”

After laying on the table for half an hour, Stanton made the short trip back to his home, where he became ill “sick”. By pouring up uncontrollably and unable to look straight, he entered bed, hoping that rest would relieve his symptoms.

The next morning, Stanton woke up in “the worst pain I had ever experienced in my life. All right side of my body was numb. It was really scary.”

He was taken to the hospital, where he was diagnosed with a hernia disc between the C5 and C6 beads in the neck. Due to the acute pain he was experiencing, he stayed in the hospital for several weeks.

“They ended up giving me epidural injections into my back, and they don’t even make a pain in pain,” he said.

After all, doctors gave him two choices: spinal cord therapy or physical therapy to manage his discomfort.

Fearing the consequences of surgery, Stanton chose PT.

“I had a pharmacy of pain medication to help the nerves be less inflamed so that I can get mobility and feel back on the right side of my body. Basically, I just had to go home and lie down for about two more months.”

Unable to work, Stanton was burned through his savings and six months in his healing, he has just begun to recover his right arm.

“I still do pain. I am still limited to what I can do physically. Simply destroyed me. Mentally, financially, physically, all.”

With limited mobility and increasing medical invoices, Stanton is being consulted with lawyers and examining legal actions.

“I feel like I just don’t have another choice because this really just ruined my whole life overnight,” he said.

The risk of chiropractic

Chiropractors – which treat neuromuscular disorders through manual adjustment or spinal manipulation – have long been controversial. They have chiropractic doctors, not MDS, as they do not attend medical school.

While supporters say chiropractors help alleviate the pain, many doctors prescribe the field as pseudo -science – and warn that they can actually lead to serious problems.

“There are reports of severe side effects with chiropractic treatment, including the formation of blood clots, hernia discs, fractures, artery dissection, stroke, paralysis and death,” Mdlinx told Okubadejo, MD, a spinal surgeon and the head of the Institute for all -encompassing care.

Dr Charles R. Wira III, an Emergency Medicine doctor in Yale Medicine, told the Huffington Post that there is a well -known link between chiropractic neck manipulations and large tears of arteries that can cause shock.

“Fortunately, generally the incidence of neck dissections is small,” he said. “But the deliberate and aggressive manipulations of the neck deserve strong consideration for concern.”

Last year, cardiologist Dr. Danielle Belardo said she was “heartbroken” to see a new patient with “vertebral artery dissection” after a neck adjustment.

“How can we live in a world where it is legal to do something with zero rehearsals for benefits (neck adjustment from a chiro) when there are such dangerous risks and changing life?” She wrote on Twitter. “[My patient] trusted a licensed healthcare doctor to provide care that it has more benefit than harm. This is a shame. “

Tikoler’s warning

Stanton hopes his story can serve as a warning to others.

“I think it’s important for me to share this story because I just don’t want what happened to me to happen to someone else,” he said.

“Please don’t go to Chiropractor, Ok? If I can do nothing with my platform to share history and save someone from experiencing what I had to experience, then I hope, something positive can come out of what I went through. Please hear me when I say care. That’s the last thing you want to experience.”

In a disturbing parallel, a young woman who felt a “neck crack” during a gym exercise in 2021 died a few weeks later after going to a chiropractor to treat her neck pain.

In 2022, a woman from George was paralyzed after a routine neck adjustment ended up cutting her spinal arteries at several points.

In 2023, an Australian man suffered a stroke after hitting his neck in a poorly advised attempt to cure his chronic back pain.
