A couple was “caught in the act” in the middle of an Italian restaurant.
A man and a woman were setting up at the San Marino restaurant in North West, England last Saturday, when they were seen in the glass planting cameras in their meal before they refused to pay.
The woman complained to the restaurant for a sharp object in her pasta, claiming she “almost broke” veneer.
They allegedly refused to pay $ 139, tried to get compensation, then left the restaurant, the Sun announced.
The family ordered a Penne San Marino pasta, a bottle of bottle of bottles, garlic bread, caesar salad, still water, carbonated water and a coca-cola.
“They had almost finished their food when the lady called one of the staff and said she found a piece of glass in her food that was in her mouth and almost broke her veneer teeth for which she had paid thousands of pounds,” said Miraz Yolcu, the management director of the restaurant.
CCTV footage revealed that the whole fiasco was a scam, with staff claiming that the video showed the man pulling a pocket of mosque out of his pocket and handed over to the woman to put on the napkin.
The woman can be seen by placing some of her napkin foods with a glass before calling a staff member.
“She just put her on the table on a piece of napkin and claimed she was in her mouth,” Yolcu claimed.
“Everyone was in shock. The staff were worried and they called the manager who came and asked what had happened. They said they wouldn’t pay for this meal,” he explained. “The manager was saying,” Sorry it just doesn’t happen, it’s impossible to find a glass in food. This is not a glass we use in the kitchen. “”
Yolcu said he was sent a picture of the glass in question and he knew “immediately” that it was not the right type of glass. “Before I said that. They didn’t pay.”
“These kinds of scams are harmful to small businesses, workers like ours,” shared San Marino on Facebook in the video title.
Yolcu said the incident was reported to Cheshire police, who confirmed they were investigating the situation.
“On 1 morning on Sunday, April 6, police received reports of a theft/fraud at a restaurant in Widnes,” said a Cheshire police spokesman. “The caller reported that three clients had left the premises unpaid for a meal after claiming to find a piece of broken glass in their meal.”
“After reviewing CCTV footage, the caller believes the glass was set at meal by clients. Research on the issue is in the early stages.”
Yolcu said everything looked good when the food was first handed over and the table started eating.
“It was shocking to see CCTV footage. They were with their daughter, but they were not ashamed. They were not reserved and they just came and said they needed something for EA, T, so we gladly showed them a table,” shared Yolcu.
“They are experienced. She was watching the cameras around,” he claimed. “They didn’t pay food but there was no compensation. We got it at CCTV, so we won’t pay them a penny.”
The first time this happened at the restaurant, Yolcu did research and received advice on what to do in these situations.
“It doesn’t happen so often, but it causes a lot of stress for staff. It is a serious charge that can include police, environmental health and cause all kinds of business problems. It can be harmful to the reputation of the restaurant,” Yolcu said.
“You have to be really calm. Before any further action you should say” I have to see a camera and call the police. “If they are serious, they will control these things and if they didn’t shocked and if they made them they would really scare,” he added.
