After a hot and sweaty drill, surely the last thing you want to do is put on the same active dress set again for the second round.
But, apparently not so bad for you after all.
A French study is shaking some feathers here in Australia, as it claims that rebuilding your active dresses is not as bad for you as you can think – and it can actually be the right choice for the sake of the longevity of your clothes, and lowering your water bill.
And of course, we have a lot to say.
Just like jeans and bra! Or is it?
Earlier this year, the French government caused an incentive with tips on how often you should wash your clothes, recommending that sportswear in particular be worn up to three times before washing them.
It sounds like my personal nightmare, so we saw experts weigh.
According to Dr. Carolina Quintero Rodriguez, a old lecturer at the fashion company at RMI University, the French recommendation has some valuable points.
“This recommendation stems from legitimate environmental concerns – every laundry cycle consumes considerable water and energy,” she said.
“Frequent washing can also degrade fabrics faster, contributing to textile waste.”
For some people, washing your training clothes can rarely be a player, especially if you are accustomed to low -intensity exercises, or wearing clothes that are made of natural fiber.
“Natural strands like cotton multiply fewer bacteria that cause odor than synthetics.
“Low -intensity activities generating minimal or low sweat (including soft yoga or walking) may [also] Allow more rewears than high intensity drills, as the spread of bacteria is directly related to moisture levels in fabrics. “
Does not work for all
Now, before you go to light your gym, it is important to note that this hack does not necessarily work for everyone.
If you are doing high intensity workouts, or wearing synthetic fabrics, this can result in significant amounts of bacteria that house only one use – and more bacteria, means more odor.
The climate can also affect how many bacteria grow in fabrics, that is, here in Australia where even in winter it can be hot and wet, it is more difficult to get rid of things such as active dresses many times.
You should also not do it if you have any skin condition, or if you are immunocompromis.
Kidspot team weighs
So, for the sake of Curiosity, I decided to bring it to the team, and ultimately, we think it’s better to be safe than weird.
“I don’t use my active dress to exercise because I’m lazy.
“You’re looking for a wrong person – I don’t even wear the same to extend two nights in a row!” Nama said.
“I have only a sports bra that I really like (do I know?) So sometimes if I know I’m going to pilates two days in a row and I don’t have time to wash it, I’ll dare two days back.
“The thought of wearing something in which you sweat is just heavy for me.
If you doubt, wash it!
