There is no need to make makeup.
McDonald’s is bringing again Shamrock Shake her beloved with the help of an old friend.
Milkshake Minti Green will return to restaurants on Monday, February 10-and the O’grimacey chain character’s character is returning after a decade break to help start the “Shamrock season”.
Uncle O’grimacey, the Irish uncle of Grimace, may not be as popular as his purple nephew, but he plays an important role in the story of McDonald’s Shamrock Shake.
The character of St. Patrick’s day debuted for the first time in 1975 – just five years after Shamrock Shake was first introduced to the menu – as part of the company’s promotions for seasonal menu article.
It is in shape like the grimace-a round body, healthy with short legs and wings-but is all green and wears a hat, vests decorated with shamrock and cane.
Uncle O’Grimimicey disappeared from advertising somewhere in the 1980s and has been out of work since.
A video posted on Fast-Food Chain’s social media on Tuesday showed Grimace looking for his long lost uncle through ancestry.com-and fans were ecstatic to see the reunion.
“I can’t stop crying that we had children,” one person wrote.
“If I don’t meet these two before you die to kill me again,” another withdrew.
But others were more skeptical, asking the motives of Uncle O’grimacey.
“Uncle O’Grimacey only appears in Grimace’s life when Grimace is riding up. It’s no coincidence, ”someone said.
“So you will restore that green nightmare that no one asked and not Ronald?” Another question.
“He’s a serial user, but Grimace won’t take it off his life,” one commented.
Some even claimed that the character had an alleged link to the Irish Republican Army (IRA).
Despite the rumors, McDonald’s is highlighting the importance of keeping families together.
“Inspired to reunite with grimace and support the 50th story of his favorite charity, Uncle O’grimacey packed his bags and went on a trip from Sham Rock, Ireland,” McDonald’s wrote in one press release.
“Now that he’s here, uncle O’grimacey is traveling to the coast on the coast, spreading shamrock cheering with fans everywhere and celebrating RMHC and their mission to keep families together.”
Of course, the return of the McDonaldland character comes with a drop in goods, Uncle O’grimacey collection, showing shirts, a crew, a hat, decal and buttons.
McDonald’s will also donate 25 cents for each Shamrock Shake bought by March 23 for Ronald McDonald House charity.
“Our fans are eagerly awaiting Shamrock Shake every year. We are excited that income from this minty spicy treatment will help RMHC in keeping families together,” Joy Silmon said, McDonald’s Second Generation Exclusivity, in a statement in a statement .
“The family is an essential value in McDonald’s, and we live this every day. Together, with our crew, clients and iconic character McDonaldland, uncle O’grimacey, we are helping RMHC make families feel at home, even when they cannot be. “
Michael Gonda, the chief of influence, North America in McDonald’s, added, “This season Shamrock Shake, with an additional cheers from the Grimace family, we are remembered that the most precious gift is being close to those you love.”
