“On the screen it is about keeping older seniors with their family, using the simplest and most popular technology – TV,” said Costin Tuculescu, the company’s CEO, in a press release.
“By calling video with automatic responses, society, he reminds of medicines and even classes on TV, we reduce loneliness and increase the peace of mind for guardians,” he added.

The hidden risks of loneliness
While Covid-19 Pandemia may be behind us, the epidemic of loneliness continues to affect millions of Americans, especially older adults.
In 2024, a nationwide study found that 33% of American adults aged 50 to 80 reported that they felt lonely for some time or often last year, while 29% felt isolated.
The World Health Organization has labeled loneliness a “pressing health threat”, with risks as deadly as smoking up to 15 cigarettes a day.
Prolonged loneliness has been shown to increase the risk of premature death and is also associated with chronic conditions such as high blood pressure, heart disease, stroke, weakened immune function and overweight.
Research suggests that social isolation also affects brain health, contributing to cognitive decline and increased risk of dementia, including Alzheimer’s disease.
The consequences of mental health are just as worrying, with loneliness associated with higher levels of depression, anxiety and even suicide.
Taken together, studies show that people who experience social isolation or loneliness are more likely to end up in the emergency room or in a nursing home.
“The innovative approach based on Oncecreen TV, with their integration of the companion of it companion, brings a completely new taking on how to provide care and support for our rapid growth population,” said Rebecca Preve, executive director of Aagingny.
“By removing the technical obstacles of the touch screens, applications and smaller devices, the screen has the potential to significantly affect many of the issues that the elderly face,” she added.
