Hailey Okula – an influencer of nursing known as “Nurse Hailey” – died at the end of last month from complications from the birth of her first child, her husband Matthew Okula, announced in a heartburn on Instagram on Tuesday.
He then discovered Fox 11 Los Angeles that the cause of death was the embolism of amniotic fluid (AFE), a rare and often fatal complication that is one of the leading causes of death during and immediately after childbirth.
Her death became increasingly tragic by the fact that she and her husband had fought to get pregnant for two years – a trip she chronicled for her 425,000 followers on Instagram.
Matthew Okula told Fox that he and his wife shared a “quick quick laugh” how old were their newborn son, the crew, before they came into cardiac arrest.
