While various factors contribute to health, fitness remains extremely important, according to fitness expert Jillian Michaels, a supporter of Make America Healthy Again.
“Fitness is the number 1 form of preventive medicine,” told Fox Digital Fox Digital Fox News Digital during an interview on the camera.
Michaels said she supports efforts to improve food, highlighting HHS secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to reform FDA regulations on food additives.
She stressed that the exercise, however, finally depends on the individual.
“This is not a new news, and this is really where we have to encourage people to get agency … when it comes to exercise, this is really where we have to take Bootstraps and start moving, even if there is only a daily goal,” Michaels said.
More than 100 million adults are living with overweight and more than 22 million have severe overweight, according to the Centers for Control and Prevention of Diseases (CDC).
Between August 2021 and August 2023, 40.3% of US adults over the age of 20 were considered thick.
As a former celebrity coach, Michaels advise people to do more than the “bare minimum” – and walking can be the best way to start getting in shape.
“One hundred and fifty minutes of walking a week has been shown to extend your life expectancy to seven years. Something like this goes such a long way,” she said.
“I worry about fake lethargy messages. In other words,” just make the minimum naked ” – I don’t love that messages because it means that all is all that one can do. That is just not true,” she continued.
“Don’t be afraid, don’t get overload. I know you’re worried about the cost. I know you’re worried about the time. I know you’re worried that you are not capable of doing some of these things you are listening to by people like me.”
Starting with a simple purpose of 5,000 steps a day and using a walking pillow is a great way to start, according to the expert.
“[Walking pads] It’s a few hundred dollars, “she said.” Put them under a table raised or straight from a kitchen counter, and you can shake to work, and you will hit those 5,000 steps without problems, every day. “
Michaels said her morning routine looks a little different every day, but she tries to stay in accordance with some things.
“I give it a few hours before I eat something. I try to moisturize, and then I see what my day looks like, and I fit into exercises anywhere, honestly, I can.”
