It is here to support you through your drug obstacles.
Although most Americans sleep with two pillows, Missouri -based physical therapist, Sammy Spiegel recently revealed why you might want to reconsider that position.
“Resist the encouragement to use two pillows for your head at night when you go to sleep,” Spiegel stated in a tiktok that has accumulated 397,000 views.

She explained that constantly looking over a table can lead to poor behavior, and over time, this can result in a visible curve at the top of the back. This curve is known as the Dowager bump, which affects two in five adults over 55.
Spiegel said the two-pole system-which she called “two pillow syndrome”-controls in poor behavior. It also advised against mattresses that match the shape of your body.
“Be careful not to give them,” she warned. “Because all of a sudden, you are in line with your curves you are going through during the day, and then you’re like,” Ugh, I can’t get it back. “”
Spiegel suggested that the neck and spine would lie again in a straight position using a flat pillow or a towel wrapped behind the neck.
Other sleeping specialists generally recommend dosing with only one pillow behind the head because it allows for a more natural approximation of the spine and neck, reducing the risk of pain and disturbance.
But people suffering from sleep apnea or acid reflux may prefer two pillows to raise the upper head and body, keeping the airways open and preventing stomach acid from traveling up.
A second pillow can come useful in other ways. Sleep experts usually advise to sleep on your back with a pillow below your knees and another that supports your neck to maintain the right spine.
Side sleeping may also want a second pillow – decide between the knees to ensure that they do not bend in the fetal position.
And the stomach fever, unfortunately, must wake up. Sleeping in your stomach flattens the natural curve of the spine, making unfair pressure on the muscles and joints. Pass!
A stretch to help your neck

Spiegel suggested that the two -pole acolity stretched their chest spine to help improve behavior and increase mobility. Here’s how it works:
- Press the bottom back against a wall and bend your knees.
- Bring the back of the head to the wall without leaving your arc rear.
- Round your shoulders forward and back in a arched position with your palms facing the outside. Press the spine on the wall.
- If you have no pain from those movements, bend your arms and slowly move them up against the wall until they touch on your head.
- If you fight to get your neck to touch the wall, roll a towel and place it behind your head.
