Gen Zer with cervical cancer Stage 4 reveals its 2 symptoms

It was the most important test of her life – she just didn’t know her at the time.

Jenna Anne Johnson, a 21-year-old college student from South Dakota, underwent a routine papal last summer and was shocked when she learned that she had cervical cancer.

“I had never brought my wisdom teeth or I broke a bone and I thought I was just a 21-year-old healthy healthy,” Johnson recalled on Instagram. “I was angry with God, crazy in the world and crazy with all healthy people who didn’t have to take their lives waiting.”

The bubble blonde was told that she had a 4.5 -centimeter tumor and would have to undergo chemotherapy and radiation. She began chemotherapy in November and hoped for the best.

About 11,500 American women – usually between the ages of 35 and 44 – are diagnosed each year with cervical cancer, which is when abnormal cervical cells grow uncontrollably. The cervix attaches the uterus to the vagina.

More than 90% of cervical cancers are caused by human papillomavirus (HPV), but Johnson said its cancer is one of some rare not from HPV.

Cervical cancer is very treatable when it is early, so it is important to start taking PAP tests at 21. About 4,000 American women die each year from the disease.

Unfortunately, the results from a PET scan in December found that Johnson’s aggressive cancer had spread to over 12 lymph nodes.

It is now Phase 4, which means that cancer has moved beyond the pelvis area, making it an impossible cure.

Recently Johnson had a chemotherapy port located under her skin while facing much more treatment.

“I was sleeping, like five extra hours a day, like, like a nap. And it was just crazy,” Johnson recently reflected in a tiktok who received 1.4 million views. “Everyone thought I was so lazy … but no, it turned out to be a symptom of cancer.”

Fatigue is a common symptom of advanced cervical cancer because cancerous cells use a lot of body energy.

“I remember I was in my hands and knees in the bathroom, how to pray to God … just stop these. Honestly, just, how, kill me because they hurt so badly,” Johnson said. “I just thought I was constipation or something else.”

A cervical cancer tumor can put pressure on the organs, tissues and nerves nearby, causing pain that can often feel like menstrual abdominal pain.

Other symptoms of cervical cancer include abnormal vaginal bleeding, watery, bloody vaginal flow or polluted odor, unexplained weight loss, an unusual need to urinate, scratching skin and itching skin .
