Even the chefs eat fast food sometimes.
Fox News Digital spoke with different chefs from all over the country to get their opinions on the types of tariffs they require when choosing to eat in fast food restaurants.
Some chefs refused to attend, saying they avoid seed oils in fast food.
Others admitted that they ate more than people could think.
Here’s what they had to say about their favorite fast food seats and elections.
BREAKFAST
A series of answers came from the chefs who spoke with Fox News Digital about their main choice for a fast food breakfast.
Josh Cooper, the chef and owner of Cooper’s Next Level BBQ in Tallahassee, Florida, said McDonald’s is still his place when it comes to a quick breakfast.
“I’m old school,” Cooper said. “It’s McDonald’s breakfast. Still the best. I think Sausage McMuffin is very difficult to defeat. ”
Cooper participated in the eighth season of FOX’s “Masterchef”, finished Nine in general at the World Food Championship and won the World Food Champion title in 2019.
“I mean, we charge mcmufins and my wife makes me get as many of the hash browns as I can keep,” Cooper said.
For Kathryn Neidus, who serves as Rustic Grill’s executive chef at the Stonewater Golf Club on the Cleveland suburb of Highland Heights, Ohio, is mainly chick-a for breakfast.
Otherwise, is McDonald’s.
“My husband usually goes to the Egg McMuffin sandwich with my kids and, of course, I like hash browns,” she said. “So we all have hash brown.”
Kelli Ferrell, a self-trained chef, a cooking book author and owner of Nana’s Chicken-N-Waffles in McDonough, Georgia, near Atlanta, offered a surprise choice.
“Do you know who I want for breakfast?” She said. “Bojangles.”
Her favorite is the morning sandwich with chicken biscuits.
“They make their biscuits fresh every morning,” she said.
Lunches and dinners
Chick-Fil-A was the clear winner when it came to fast food and dinner food.
Most chefs who spoke to Fox News Digital agreed that Chick-Fil-A was their favorite place, with McDonald’s a close second.
“Chick-Fil-A is probably the number 1 of our visit and I would say once every two weeks we are in Chick-Fil-A,” Neidus said.
As a worker mother of a 7-year-old girl and a 4-year-old boy, Neidus said there are times when it is simply easier to stop at Chick-Fil-A than to cook something.
“There is always something I can find I like,” she said.
Neidus said her children like chicken pieces, but she usually gets a salad.
“I’m very boring,” she said. “But I love it.”
Sometimes, Neidus said, she will order extra pieces and place them in her salad.
It’s a similar story for Ferrell. She said she likes Chick-Fil-A because there are four girls who are all “selected eating”.
Said Ferrell, “Sometimes we don’t want fried. Sometimes we want grilled. Sometimes we want a salad option. Sometimes we want sandwiches. So it’s a better option for us. ”
Cooper said his children also have to do with Chick-Fil-A.
“They love their Chick-Fil-A,” he said. “But my wife and I, when traveling, is from Texas – so we try to hit Whataburger as much as we can when we are on the road.”
They even have every exit with a whataburger location memorized between Tallahassee and Nashville, Tennessee, where his stepfather goes to college.
“I just get double cheeseburger every time,” Cooper said.
A chef who did not mention Chick-Fil-A was Mike Haracz, a former Corporate Corporation for McDonald’s in Illinois.
“If I’m eating fast food for whatever reason, I tend to gravity to Wendy’s and Taco Bell,” he said. “I’ve had a lot of McDonald’s in my days, so if my kids don’t want cheerful food, I tend to look for somewhere else. I also attend more regional chains like Portilo’s and Culver’s instead of national ones. “
What is his favorite sandwich? It’s not a Big Mac.
“A wendy’s baconator really hits in the country,” Haracz said. “I am usually not visiting a fast food restaurant for conscious health choices, so meat, cheese and bacon options are preferred for me.”
Haracz added that “the bacon used in burger is usually cooked beautifully and crunchy”.
“I don’t always want lettuce or other products in my burger, so the baconator hits properly,” he said.
SIDES
When it comes to the sides, most chefs said the chips in McDonald’s could not be filled.
“Must be McDonald’s,” Ferrell said.
Neidus agreed.
“I think I like McDonald’s chips more than VaFle Chick-Fil-a chips, I’ll say,” she explained. “And I think my whole family can prove this too. We love McDonald’s chips. ”
She also has love for the fried potatoes in Wendy’s, “but we just don’t go to Wendy’s so often.”
“Also, do not sleep with Arby’s fried potatoes,” Cooper added, noting that he holds a bag of frozen frozen chips of the Atlanta -based chain in his home.
Drinks and cakes
Finally, when it comes to drinks and sweets, carbonated drinks with McDonald’s fountain and Milkshakes Chick-Fil-A are the favorites of the chef who shared their thoughts.
Neidus said Chick-Fil-A’s Cookies & Creams Milkshake is “absolutely” the best, though Cooper said he prefers Oreo Cookies ‘N Creamskeke in Steak N’ Shake.
But, Neidus said, fountain sparkling drinks are best in McDonald’s.
“I think McDonald’s is always the winner,” she said.
