What’s on the menu for Donald Trump’s inaugural lunch?

But what’s on the menu?

While exact details for the 2025 event have yet to be released, if history is any guide, diners can expect to be served a three-course meal with a seafood dish, a meat entrée and a dessert — possibly with ice cream.

As Trump now calls Florida home, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see dishes influenced by the Sunshine State’s legendary cuisine — or perhaps a dish with a nod to Vice President JD Vance’s Ohio roots.

In 2017, the last time an inaugural luncheon was held, Trump and about 200 luncheon guests had a three-course meal.

(The 2021 event was not held due to the coronavirus pandemic.)

The first course was Gulf of Maine lobster and shrimp topped with saffron sauce and peanut crumble, followed by a main of grilled Seven Hills Angus beef with dark chocolate juniper juniper and potato gratin.

Dessert was chocolate souffle with cherry vanilla ice cream.

The 2017 menu was quite similar in structure to the menu at President Barack Obama’s second inauguration in 2013.

There, guests were served steamed lobster and New England soup, followed by grilled bison, “horseradish cake with red potato and wild huckleberry reduction” and a dessert of “Hudson Valley Apple Pie,” sour cream, aged cheese and honey.

The last inaugural luncheon that did not include ice cream as part of the dessert was the second inauguration of President George W. Bush in 2005.

The Inaugural Luncheon was first held in 1897, but its current form began in 1953, the website for the JCCIC says.

“That year, President Dwight D. Eisenhower, Mrs. Eisenhower and fifty other JCCIC guests dined on creamed chicken, baked ham and mashed potatoes in the now-restored Old Senate Chamber,” the website said.
